Acceptable Use Policy
Draft: not yet in effect
1. Why this policy exists
Every advertising network has its own rules. If our clients break them, accounts get restricted, businesses lose money and our infrastructure is put at risk for every other client. This Acceptable Use Policy sets the minimum standard for anything you advertise through OST Desk. The network's own policy always applies too: where the two differ, the stricter rule wins.
2. Follow the network's rules
You must comply with the advertising policies of each network you use, including Meta's Advertising Standards, Google Ads policies and TikTok's Advertising Policies, as they change over time.
3. Prohibited content and products
You may not advertise, link to or promote:
- illegal products, services or activities, or anything illegal where the ad is shown;
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs and drug paraphernalia, tobacco and vaping products;
- unsafe supplements, prescription medicines without the required authorisation, or health claims you can't substantiate;
- adult or sexually explicit content or services;
- counterfeit goods, or content that infringes intellectual property;
- scams, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, "get rich quick" offers and misleading income claims;
- financial, crypto, gambling, dating, political or social-issue ads, unless you hold every authorisation the network and the law require and the network allows them;
- discriminatory practices, including in housing, employment or credit ads;
- content that exploits crises, sensitive events or personal attributes.
4. Prohibited practices
You may not:
- circumvent enforcement: use OST Desk to keep advertising after a network has restricted you, your business, your products or your content; or open accounts to replace restricted ones;
- cloak: show reviewers different content from what users see, or use any technique to hide the real destination of an ad;
- use misleading or deceptive creatives, fake endorsements, fake reviews or impersonation of people or brands;
- run ads for a business other than the one we approved, or resell or share access to your accounts without our written approval;
- use stolen payment methods, or fund your wallet with money from illegal activity.
5. Compliance review
We may review your products, ads and landing pages before and after setup, and ask you to change or stop a campaign. Restricted categories need our written approval before you advertise.
6. What happens if you break this policy
Depending on severity we may warn you, pause campaigns, withhold funding, suspend your account or close it under the Terms. Serious breaches (fraud, cloaking, circumvention, illegal products) lead to immediate closure, and we may report them to the network or the authorities.
7. Reporting
Report suspected misuse to our team through your account or your account manager.
